REFERENCE

The project:

The project was an extension to an old building, which required amongst other things the construction of worn Creusoise stone to match the existing stonework. The construction of footings, concrete floors, a new roof and plaster boarding.
In addition the extension required new windows including velux windows and doors both internally and externally.

The work:

From the outset of the project I found Terry’s work to be of a high standard. The external stonework for me was the most important part of the project and the one thing I was not going to compromise on as it sets the tone of the building and I also wanted to stay true to the character of the region. Terry instinctively understood this and did a wonderful job it looks beautiful.
Terry continued this high standard throughout the project. He was hardworking and was professional at all times.
He sets himself a standard of finish on his work that can only be admired.
During the project when myself and my partner were visiting he assisted in other work being carried out by us sometimes staying late in the evening to help us out.


Character Reference:

I found Terry to be a trustworthy, honest and patient person. He was always cheerful when confronted with a barrage of questions from me. He understood I had no knowledge of building or construction terminology and patiently explained what he was doing when I asked for an update. When I visited the project Terry walked with me through every detail of what he was doing, how it was going to be done and changed things when asked without complaint.

I witnessed him interact with his work colleagues whom he always treated with respect and good humour.

When my partner and I were in the UK we left Terry the keys to the main house so he could have full use of the facilities as the house he was working on which was opposite had no water connection and the electricity supply was linked to the main building. We did this without hesitation such was our trust in him.
We have met Anna on several occasions and I have liaised with her via email when in the UK. Anna has always been professional and courteous, replying promptly to any questions. In my observation Terry and Anna have a very good working relationship based on respect and the ability to communicate with each other. They work very much as a team.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Terry and I hope to employ him in any future projects I have.

About us:

I live and work in Central London with my partner John. We both work for the Metropolitan Police as civil staff. A number of years ago John retired as a serving police officer at the rank of Inspector and bought a property in Creuse, which consisted of a number of out buildings. John signed over one of the buildings to me so I would have my own project to work on. It was then down to me to finance the project and find tradesmen.
I was lucky to find Terry and Anna who have guided and advised me throughout this project and have made it an enjoyable experience.
